Facilitation of Russian healthcare system advance through sustainable succession of generations within medical professional community.
PPPM-based learning
Predictive, preventive and personalized medicine aim rather at prevention than treatment based on early detection of pathology predictors far before its clinical manifestations.
The educational philosophy is being rearranged in line with global trends in PPPM.
The Russian government recognizes preventive medicine as a top priority by funding relevant projects under the Federal Program of Healthcare Development till 2020. First MSMU has already founded International PPPM Consortium which united world-leading PPPM institutions: European Association for Predictive, Preventive and Personalized Medicine (EPMA), International Society of Personalized Medicine (ISPM) и Personalized Medicine Coalition (PMC). The main idea of the organization is to promote PPPM into the healthcare routine as a health-preserving system.
The StrAU 1 environment is an opportunity for trainees to pursue the clinician-scientist path by getting involved into research projects. Trainees would be expected to devise a personalized curriculum.
• Genomics – drugs for preventive gene PPPM-based therapy
• Proteomics – methods of individual proteins and antigen determinants detection
• Metabolomics – cell metabolic functioning
• Bioinformatics – methods of mathematical modeling in the aforementioned areas
PPPM-based researchExtensive implementation of PPPM policies with obligatory pre-clinical diagnostics is funded by the European Commission, US National Institute of Health, US Food and Drug Administration. The Government of the Russian Federation has defined the Development of Preventive Medicine project as a top priority in terms of innovations within the federal programme Healthcare 2020.
