On September 27, 2023, at the initiative of the Rector of Sechenov University Professor Petr Glybochko and considering the mutual interest in developing cooperation in the field of education, science and innovation a Memorandum of Intent was signed to create the Eurasian Association of Universities of Life Sciences (EAULS).

The Memorandum was signed by representatives of universities from 5 countries – Russia, China, Iran, Syria and Kyrgyzstan.

The Association includes 6 universities (co-founders):

1. Sechenov University (Russia)
2. Harbin Medical University (China)
3. Fudan University (China)
4. Sharif University of Technology (Iran)
5. Damascus University (Syria)
6. I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (Kyrgyzstan).

The aim of the Eurasian Association is to develop a system of pan–Eurasian research cooperation in the field of life sciences, create and implement a digital platform for joint biomedical and clinical research.

The objectives of the Association are to create an effective community of representatives of universities from friendly member countries of the EAULS, a community of foreign and Russian graduates of universities of the Russian Federation for the development of cooperation in various fields of life sciences, applied medicine, pharmacy and the development of new medicinal compounds, artificial intelligence systems, new diagnostic complexes, the implementation of new joint projects, assistance in the training of highly qualified multilateral educational institutions programs, promotion of initiatives aimed at solving the most pressing problems in the field of life sciences, inclusion of new members in the association and exchange of experience.
