New surgical techniques: online course at Sechenov
Top experts in the field will share the current developments in surgery and clinical anatomy.
The Sechenov International Online School (SIOS) is starting a course on the New anatomical information: enhanced insights into surgery and manual surgical skills. This intensive training will include online chats and questions to the speakers. The sessions are scheduled to take place every day on 19–23 October 2020, starting at 10:00 (MST, GMT+3).
This English-language cycle of talks is organised by the Department for Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy (Sechenov University). The number of the attendees is limited so please register online at https://sios2020.ru/surgery. Here you can also find the extended programme.
The speakers are Prof Friedrich Paulsen, from the University of Erlangen–Nuremberg (Germany) and Sechenov University, and Prof Marina Kapitonova, from UNIMAS — the University of Malaysia, Sarawak (Malaysia).
One of the features of this online training will be a workshop on the use of virtual and augmented reality in anatomy. The participants will hear about the current developments in clinical embryology of the digestive system (for future surgeons), clinical embryology of the excretory system (for future urologists), and clinical anatomy of the nose and efferent tear ducts. The course will also include a workshop on manual surgical skills — surgical nodes and instruments, surgical suture techniques, and vascular suturing.
