Sechenov University has entered Times Higher Education Rankings-2018

The results of THE Emerging Economies University Rankings- 2018 were announced at the Times Higher Education Emerging Economies Summit in Rabat (Morocco) on May 9, 2018.

Sechenov University was included in the prestigious ranking, as one of the 27 Russian institutions. THE Emerging Economies University Rankings-2018 has selected 378 top world universities from 42 countries, including China, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, India, Brazil, Turkey, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, etc.

The ranking uses the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings, examining each university's strengths against all of its core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. However the methodology has been carefully recalibrated to better reflect the characteristics and development priorities of universities in emerging economies. More weight is given, for example, to university's industry links and international outlook.

The inclusion of Sechenov University as one of the best research universities among the emerging economy nations should be considered as a significant achievement. It promotes active involvement of the University in global research networks and partnership projects within the framework of international cooperation.

The main topic of the Times Higher Education Emerging Economies Summit-2018 is “Empowering the next generation of universities”.
Prof. Andrey A. Svistunov, the First Vice-rector of Sechenov University, takes part in the Summit as a guest speaker.
