How to apply?
Step 1. To register in your Personal Account;
Step 2. To submit the necessary documents through your personal account;
Step 3. To pass the entrance exams;
Step 4. To get a contract and an invoice for tuition fees (in the case of a paid-based training);
Step 5. To sign the contract and pay for the training (if applicable).
Step 6. To request a Buddy (volunteer student) to help you with adaptation by email buddy@staff.sechenov.ru
Entrance exams
Entrance exams are internal exams borne by the University independently for applicants wishing to apply for the University programmes. Examination dates depend on the admission periods 2024/2025 and can be found in the table above.
An applicant is allowed to choose a language of the examination - Russian or English.

Minimum Entry Results are indicated as number of points out of 100 points possible.
Numbers in brackets indicate priority of an exam.
*CT is a computer test.
**SD is a special discipline which is relevant to the chosen PhD programme.
***Citizens of the countries where the Russian language is not among the official languages can choose examination in the Russian language as a foreign language. Examination cannot be taken in a language which is the official language of the applicant's home country.

How do I transfer from my university to Sechenov University?
You have to submit your application via https://student.sechenov.ru/request/
When does the application process begin?
Admissions usually begin in June of each year, when you can apply to an educational program.
How do I apply for admission to SU?
In order to apply for admission you need to go to your Personal Account, click on the tab Printed Applications and select Application for admission, which you need to download, sign and attach a scan of the signed application.
How long do I have to wait for a visa invitation?
Min. 40 days from the day of application of Host University to the Ministry
I applied and I didn't get a contract, what should I do?
As a rule, if the documents are submitted correctly, the contract automatically appears in your Personal Account. Otherwise, you need to contact: admission@staff.sechenov.ru
I want to enter SU, what do I have to do?

What level of Russian language proficiency is required for admission to SU?
For foreign candidates to study at Sechenov University in Russian it is necessary to have at least an intermediate level - B1.
I'm finishing my master's degree and want to go to graduate school, what do I need to do to do that?

What documents do I have to submit in order to be admitted to SU?
The following original documents are required to be provided to the Admission Committee:
1. Notarized translation of your passport into Russian.
2. Your education certificate with consular legalization or bearing the Apostille stamp. More information on documents legalization: http://nic.gov.ru/en/proc/nic/legalize. Please note, education certificates obtained in the Russian Federation do not require legalization, Apostille stamps or Certificates of Recognition.
3. Notarized translation of the education certificate into Russian.
4. Certificate of recognition of foreign education. It is provided by the Main State Center for Education Evaluation (Glavekspertcentr). Here you will find information on how to get the Certificate of Recognition: http://nic.gov.ru/en/proc/nic.
5. Certificate of absence of HIV-1 infection translated into the Russian language.
6. Medical form of eligibility for studying in Russia.
All documents issued outside Russia must be legalized prior to submission in accordance with the law of the Russian Federation: undergo consular legalization (in the Consulate of the Russian Federation in the country where the document was issued) or bear an Apostille stamp (for documents issued in the countries that are parties to The Hague Convention). Original documents rather than copies should be legalized!
Please note that every country has its own requirements of legalization and recognition of education certificates.
Does Sechenov University provide a dormitory?
Accommodation at Sechenov University dormitories is limited due to a big number of students from other Russian cities and abroad. For this reason, we suggest applicants to pay special attention to this issue and arrange their accomodation in Moscow themselves in advance.
Does Sechenov University have official representatives abroad?
In China, Shandong Mingyang Overseas Study Service Co. Ltd. (Mingyang Education Ltd) is the legitimate representative of Sechenov University to assist in publicity and enrollment, application consultation, student application and admission, preparatory courses enrollment, joint programs/schools, etc.
